About MyAnnuityCalc
MyAnnuityCalc is a free, independent set of annuity calculators and reference guides. The site exists to answer one practical question clearly: "If I put a given amount into an annuity at a given age, roughly how much monthly income does that produce?" — and the reverse: how much principal a target monthly income requires.
What this site is
- A calculator, first. Every page is built around live, in-browser annuity math using the standard period-certain payout formula documented in IRS Publication 939. You can adjust the amount, rate, and term on any page and see results instantly.
- Independent. We are not an insurance company, agency, or broker. We do not sell annuities, generate leads for annuity salespeople, collect quotes, or accept payment from insurers to feature products.
- Private by design. Calculations run entirely in your browser. Nothing you type into a calculator is transmitted or stored. See our privacy policy.
What this site is not
MyAnnuityCalc does not provide financial, tax, or legal advice. Our figures are mathematical estimates based on stated assumptions — actual quotes from insurance carriers use their own actuarial tables, current credited rates, and your personal details (gender, health, state), and will differ from our estimates. Before buying an annuity, get real quotes from multiple carriers and talk to a licensed financial professional.
How the numbers are calculated
Every figure on the site comes from the same documented methodology: the period-certain annuity payment formula, payout terms calibrated to purchase age, and a credited-rate range (4%–6%) reflecting the fixed-annuity market. Sources include IRS Publication 939, Social Security Administration actuarial life tables, and Bureau of Labor Statistics consumer expenditure data. The full detail — formulas, assumptions, term mapping, and update schedule — is on our editorial policy & methodology page.
How the site is funded
The site is free to use and supported by advertising served through Google AdSense on some pages. Advertisers have no influence over our calculators, assumptions, or written content, and we do not accept sponsored content from annuity providers.
